A.W.O.L.

Ahem *sneaks back into the room*

So, I've been M.I.A. lately... I'm not even going to pretend that I've been busy, because I haven't. I have no excuse, I've been rubbish lately.

But I have done a few cakes in the time since my last blog post, I just need to edit some of the photos and then I can post them :) I think I have probably been on a class or two as well. I'll have a little look-see at what I've been up to and post over the next few days.

Belated blog birthday

I didn't even realise! I've been writing this blog (albeit rather infrequently) for over a year; my blog's 1st birthday was on 20th March. Oooops!

Happy Belated Birthday Blog :)

Lorraine McKay bride and groom workshop

You may remember that some time ago I made a model of a boy with a dog [you can see the post here], which was based on a tutorial by Lorraine McKay of Extra Icing! Well, last weekend I was lucky enough to attend a course taught by Lorraine herself! The topic; a bride and groom cake topper fully handmade from modelling paste.

Gosh darn it! Stupid Snow :(

Today was the day that I should have been going to Nottingham. I should have been having my very first play with an airbrush, learning some new techniques. But I didn't go to Nottingham. And I didn't learn anything or play with an airbrush :(

Last night it snowed. Now, I like a bit of snow. Infact, I am actually quite fond of a lot of snow. It is just that when I have places to be, me and the snow do not get on.

Belated Birthday to Me

It was my birthday a couple of days ago so I thought I'd bake myself a cake :)

Had a little bit of a splurge...

And booked myself on to a few courses!!! :)

I'll be attending a one-day course in airbrushing, a two-day course learning how to create a bride and groom cake topper and a five-week evening class to learn how to make sugar roses. All within February and March and all very exciting!

My first cupcake tower

I was asked by Michelle, a friend at work, if I would make her some cupcakes for her upcoming 30th birthday. She was having a masked ball themed celebration and wanted vanilla, chocolate and red velvet cuppies for her party.
